The Calcutta Technical School (CTS) is one of the oldest Technical Institution in India since British period. Initially it was provided courses like NCC (National Certificate Course) in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Govt. of India; BOAT (Board of Apprenticeship Training) in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Govt. of West Bengal; Shipwright Course; Electrical Supervisory Course; Evening Coaching for AMIE (Sec A & B). Major Apprentices from Calcutta Port Trust, GRSE, CIWTC, Shalimar Works, Port Engg., Hooghly Docking & Engg. Ltd. used to attend CTS for the purpose of obtaining either NCC or, BOAT along with MOT Class 2 (Part A). In fact CTS produced many Marine Engineers for India who became very popular in the Merchant Marine. It also produced many Mechanical and Electrical Engineers who also obtained AMIE and ME/MTech/MS and well placed in the society. The role of CTS is very important to the Engineers' community and towards the growth of the country.



The Calcutta Technical School is a technical school in located in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal of India. It is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE), approved by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) and provides Diploma level technical education to its students.
